Folks we are so proud to announce the creation of our new website and blog!
We hope to make your experience on this website worthwhile and hope for feedback as to how we can improve your experience with all of our activities. We are excited to tell you and illustrate the beauty of our Riverbend202 venue where we hold at least three events a year, with attendees totaling 2,000 Riverbend202′ers per event.
The Birk has live music on the weekends where Riverbend202 Productions books talent from the greater Portland area and remember to stop by at The Birkenfeld Country Store and Cafe to enjoy our custom made Smokehouse Burgers for lunch from Wednesday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm and Sundays 10am to 2pm. Always remember and never forget “we will treat you so many ways you will have to like one of them.”
On Saturday night music night we feature specials that are available prior to the music or during. Recent specials have included Prime Rib, Shrimp Pasta and Grilled Chicken.
The Birk has an extensive liquor selection for purchase. Hours are identical to the store 9am to 6pm Monday through Saturday and 9am to 2pm on Sundays.
The Birkenfeld Store & Pub is celebrating its 101st year in continual operation, arguably the oldest store in Oregon to do so!
Older than Fenway Park, Wrigley Field and the sinking of The Titanic, the structure sits proudly alongside Highway 202 and has withstood numerous floods from the Nehalem River (she sits on high ground) and countless log truck visitations.
The structure was built as a dance hall for the employees at the worlds largest lumber mill at the time in Vernonia, some twenty miles to the east of Birkenfeld. The employees came by train and enjoyed the dance hall and saloon housed upstairs in the existing structure.
